Last Minute Halloween Crafts October 31 2013, 1 Comment

Just this morning I was thinking I'd love to do something special for my trick-or-treaters. These two crafts were created by things that most people having laying around the house! First I'm going to light up my walkway with 6 adorable Mummy Candles then everyone will get a special treat with the Witch's Broom Lollipops!

If you're like me you never recycle your pasta sauce jars and think "I'm totally going to do something with these", then they just sit in your pantry. Well this craft uses those jars to make adorable mummy candles, that you can use to light up your walkway or place in your windows for a spooky ambience.

Here are all the items you'll need:

  • Pasta Sauce Jar
  • White Streamer
  • Tealight Candle
  • Black Paper
  • Glue or Scrapbook Tape
  • Scissors

Here's how you make them:

  1. Soak the pasta jar in warm water then peel off the labels.
  2. Glue or use double sided tape to attach the white streamer to the back of the pasta jar. Wrap the streamer up the jar on a diagonal. Once you reach the top use the glue or double sided tape to attach. Don't cut the streamer yet!
  3. Use the scissors and cut out two black circles for the mummy eyes. Glue the eyes on top of the streamer just above the middle of the jar.
  4. Take the streamer you still have attached and wrap it down the jar this time, make sure to keep some of the eyes revealed. Once you reach the bottom, glue to attach. You can wrap your mummy as many times as you want to get the desired look.
  5. Lastly drop in a tealight candle, light and enjoy!

This craft reminded me of a joke my niece told me. What did the archeologist say on payday?........ "Show me the mummy!"

I wanted to make a fun treat for my trick-or-treaters so I decided to make these darling witch's brooms to hand out. However, if you paired these with name tags they'd make an adorable addition to your place settings at a dinner party!

Here are all the items you'll need:

  • Lollipops
  • Tissue Paper (we used orange and black)
  • Scissors
  • Ribbon
  • Tags or Name Tag (we used our Halloween party labels)
Here's how you make them:
  1. Grab the tissue paper and cut 4"x4" squares.
  2. Carefully, poke the lollipop stick through the middle of the tissue square, then pull the tissue down around the candy part of the lollipop.
  3. Gather the tissue at the base of the lollipop then wrap the ribbon around it to secure the broom in place. Adjust the tissue paper so your broom will stand up on its own.
  4. Finish it off with a fun Halloween label to hand out to trick-or-treaters or use a name tag and place it on your table!
  5. Enjoy the cuteness!

Happy Halloween from Party Boutique! Have a safe and fun night and to all my Northwesters out there stay dry!
