Scary Good Details October 11 2013, 2 Comments

A good party is all in the details. Learn how to take your party essentials and turn them into a scary good time for your Halloween bash. This week we are looking at how to use Party Boutique's all-in-one Halloween Mini Kit, which includes all the essentials you'll need starting at just $50.

Included in the Halloween kit are orange and black striped paper straws. Adding a colorful striped paper straw to any drink makes it instantly more adorable but why not take it a "sip" further? (Please excuse me, I'm feeling "pun-ny" today). If you are hosting a kid's party or even an adult party consider these cute plastic milk bottles, there is so much you can do with them! We cut outlines of tiny bats and witches' hats, cut two slits in the middle, and slipped the straws in. You can use this free template of bats and hats. We simply added the straws to the milk bottles and placed the included party labels on the bottle.

Another way to use the straw and milk bottle combination is to make mini ghosts and jack-o-lanterns. For the ghost, cut out two circles for the eyes and a bigger circle for the mouth then glue onto the milk bottle, serve with milk! For the jack-o-lantern, cut out two eyes, a nose and a mouth, in any shape you want, then glue on the milk bottle and serve with orange soda.

We added stationary to ordinary party essentials to add detail and interest. To send guests home with a spooky treat we added stationary to the orange striped favor bags that reads "Thanks for dropping by". To dress up cupcakes we used the polka dot cupcake wrappers and topped them with the party labels, aren't they lovely?

Striped paper straws can be used for more than just drinks. Use them to put your treats on a "stick" like these jack-o-lantern rice krispy treats or these frozen banana ghosts via Spoonful

Spook-ify your party and set the table with these spider plates! Everyone will love these darling plates that you can still eat off! Here's what you need:

  • Black plates (Included in your Halloween Kit)
  • 1/2" strips of black paper
  • Edible eyes (Can be found in the baking section of your grocery store)
  • Frosting

Glue each strip to the bottom of the plate, 4 on each side, and then fold to make into legs. Use frosting to attach the edible eyes to the rim of the plate, so if an eyeball gets mixed in with the food it's 100% edible.

Just a couple ideas on how to add scary details to your Halloween Mini Kit that will make an impression. Happy Halloween!
